Dr. Michael D. Scott

Pastor Michael
Pastor Michael was born on August 11, 1976, and was born again in 1990 at the age of 13. He was called into full-time ministry shortly thereafter in 1991. He graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO in 1998 with a Graduate of Theology and a Bachelor of Pastoral Studies and Bible. In 2006 he earned a Master of Sacred Theology Degree from Amherst Theological Seminary in Madison Heights, VA, and then received his Doctorate of Sacred Theology the following year.

Pastor Michael became the Associate Pastor of Charity Baptist Fellowship in 1998, serving as Youth Pastor, Music Minister, Sunday School Superintendent, and Children's Ministries Director. In 2007, he became co-pastor of the church with Pastor Chuck Scott. In 2014, he became senior pastor. 



Pastor Michael has been Youth Camp Director since 2006, with several churches participating. He has served two terms as Secretary of the Georgia Baptist Bible Fellowship, an Assistant Editor and author for the Ancient Baptist Journal, and author of "He Opened the Book, He Closed the Book: Jesus, Isaiah, and the Panoramic View of the Bible."

Dr. Scott and his wife Katie were married on May 21, 2005. They have three children: Caroline, who was born in 2007, Madelynn, born in 2011, and Abraham, born in 2015.

Pastor Michael's hobbies include football, reading, fishing, and anything that involves the ocean. His life verse is 1 Corinthians 15:10 - “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

He is a Bible expositor and a defender of the King James Bible.

Pastor Chuck Scott

Pastor Chuck
Pastor Chuck was born in Jacksonville, FL, on August 6, 1949. He graduated from Norcross High School, in Norcross, GA in June of 1967. After graduation, he secured a position with Delta Airlines in Atlanta, GA, where he worked until retiring on December 31, 2001.

In 1970, he met Beverly Barrett, and the two were married on April 3, 1971. In 1972, they were blessed with the birth of their 1st child, a daughter, whom they named Laura Joyce. Some 4 years later, in 1976, they were blessed with their 2nd child, a son, whom they named Michael Dennis.

In 1972, the Lord began to place a calling on Pastor Chuck's life, and he and Beverly began to feel the urge to get involved in church. Over the course of the next 20 years, Pastor Chuck and Beverly were involved in various churches, and became very active in the various positions of leadership. Pastor Chuck was a teacher, Deacon, Elder, Missions Committe Chairman, Treasurer, Chairman of the Deacon Board, as well as holding other church positions. Pastor Chuck began to realize his calling was yet to be fulfilled. He began to seek God's will with a passion, and realized that God's calling was to start an independent Baptist church.


The first service of Charity Baptist was held on July 7th, 1996 in the Scott's home in Jonesboro, GA. Pastor Chuck was ordained in December, 1996. He was Senior Pastor until October of 2014, when he became Pastor Emeritus of Charity Baptist.
